CATAGORY ONE - HEAVY TANKER

CALLSIGN: Yarramundi One

 

Specifications:

CREW: 6

DIMENSIONS: Length 7800mm, Width 2400mm, Height 3200mm

MAIN PUMP : Two stage centrifugal pump close coupled to 3 cylinder 36kW diesel engine.

PUMP DUTY : 1450 litres/min. @ 100kpa, 1000 litres/min. @ 700kpa, 900 litres/min. @ 700kpa.

AUX. PUMP : Single stage pump close coupled to single cylinder petrol engine.

TANK: 3300 litre Galvanised steel tank.

FOAM: Foam induction poportioner with 60 litre foam concentrate storage.

BODY: Galvanised high tensile steel tray frame with aliminium treadplate floor. Grasslands spraybar and dual pump controls in work area. Two live hosereels, 25mm x 50 m hose n/side, 20mm x 60 m hose o/side. Storage for canvas hose, branches, knapsacks, rakehoes, driptorches, extinguishers and standpipes.

CAB SPRAY : Single point water/faom spray on cab and on each wheel.

CATAGORY NINE - STRIKER/MOP-UP UNIT

Specifications for this vehicle are unavailable as they are locally built by Districts, however the RFS are developing a standard specification.

Typically a Catagory Nine vehicle is built onto a light 4WD chassis such as a Landcruiser or Patrol trayback unit. These are fitted with light duty pumps and a tank of around 500 litres.
